Video: I’ve repented but I don’t regret releasing ‘porno’ music video – Lord Paper

In 2016, the music fraternity in Ghana was hit with the most sexually explicit music video to ever be released.

An underground artiste by name Lord Paper was the mastermind behind the music and its video titled ‘Awurama’ which many described as pornographic.

Hours after the video was released, Lord Paper rose from an underground artiste to become the most talked about artiste in Ghana at the time.

Due to its highly sexual content, YouTube pulled the music video down in less than 24 hours after its upload.

‘Awurama’ music video shows Lord Paper having sex with a lady identified as Nana Yaa Jamaica

No aspect of the sexual intercourse was censored.

In an interview, Lord Paper admitted to stripping the lady naked and ‘acting’ the sex scene.

However, Lord Paper in an interaction with JoyNews’ Maxwell Amoofia reveals that he has turned a new leaf and will no longer release ‘pornographic’ music videos.

“Right now I’ve changed. I [am doing] clean stuff…It is so clean that people don’t even like [it],” he said.

When questioned by the interviewer on his earlier announcement in 2017 to do music videos devoid of nudity but later going back on his word, the rapper insisted that this ‘change’ has come to stay.

He explained that he pulled a stunt with those exotic videos to gain the attention of Ghanaians especially in an industry where underground artistes struggle to get mainstream recognition.

Lord Paper added that he had to consider the criticisms of Ghanaians, one reason for his change in direction.

“I just respect Ghanaians. I do the music for them. If they tell me they don’t like this thing, I have to listen,” the rapper said.

In spite of his transformation, the ‘North K Guy’ hit maker discloses that he doesn’t regret releasing pornographic music videos.

“I don’t regret. I have a tour in London. I have a song with Mr. Eazi and I have a song with Joey B. I don’t regret,” he insisted.

Lord Paper has asked Ghanaians to check out one of his ‘clean’ music videos titled ‘Call On Me’ featuring Mr. Eazi.
