Video: I recorded ‘Bars’ with M.anifest, we have other songs together – Sarkodie

Rapper Sarkodie has revealed that a leaked song which features arch-rival, M.anifest making rounds was indeed recorded by them.

Earlier this week, social media went wild after a song titled ‘Bars’ by two of Ghana’s biggest rap rivals, Sarkodie and M.anifest was leaked.

Speaking as a guest on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM with sit in host, Bulldog, the ‘Adonai’ hit maker admitted that he indeed recorded a song with the ‘godMC’ rapper.

He stressed that he has other songs with the rapper which they never released due to a couple of reasons.

Sarkodie, however, stated that the leaked song (Bars) which was produced by Kayso was recorded some years ago.

“…This song…goes way back, I can’t remember the year but it was a very long time ago. We have songs. We actually have about three songs that we released years ago. We have not titled any song but I know we recorded with three different producers and they have the songs…,” he said.

Asked if he has recorded any song with M.anifest recently, the Best International Act: Africa category at the 2012 BET Awards, replied “No”.

Sarkodie, who is currently preparing for his annual Rapperholic concert on December 25 at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC), added that he and M.anifest are cool but not the best of friends.

“…I have people in the industry that I see always. M.anifest has always been afar but when we meet, we give each other the respect…,” he said.

In 2016, Ghana woke up to what is mostly referred to as a lyrical beef between Sarkodie and M.anifest.

Critics said that Sarkodie in his “Bossy” track bragged about how he is the best rapper in Ghana and beyond and wondered why people talk of rappers and leave him out.

He asked who was the best and answered that it was him, of course.

This claim might not have gone down well with M.anifest who also recorded ‘godMC’ as a reply to Sarkodie.
