Maverick politician and MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyepong, has sent a plea to the president to give local entrepreneurs contracts rather than spend all state resources on settling debts left by the NDC.
Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Badwam, the fire brand politician said a lot of money was being spent on paying off debts incurred by the erstwhile NDC government at the expense of empowering entrepreneurs in the country.
Ken Agyepong was in the news sometime back when he lashed out at the government for what he said was the award of contracts to NDC supporters at the expense of NPP faithful who supported the party in the just ended election.
He particularly made reference to the award of the contract for the printing of National ID cards and that created some controversy compelling the Communication Minister, Ursula Owusu Ekuful to address the issue in a statement.
But in his latest plea, the NPP legislator pointed no accusing fingers but stressed the need to empower local businessmen.
“The NPP cannot pay all the debts the NDC left even in four years. The NPP is using all state money to pay debt but they should set some aside to empower local entrepreneurs,” he stated.
