Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and leading NPP member, Alex Afenyo Markin seem to disagree on the modus operandi of ace undercover investigative reporter, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
While Dr. Bawumia has lauded Anas for his work and urged Ghanaians to encourage him to continue with his investigations, Mr. Alex Afenyo Markin told Sampson Lardi Ayenini on Joy FM that it was time to interrogate the methods of Anas.
In a Facebook post, Dr. Bawumia stated that “People should know that what they do in the dark can be exposed”.
The Veep has reportedly watched a segment of the latest work of Anas that has his name being mentioned in $12million attempted bribe call by GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi in a sting operation by Anas. The work titled, Number 12 is set to be premiered at centres across the country on ednesday, June 6, 2018.
The strategy of Anas has generated wild controversy with another NPP firebrand, Ken Agyapong lashing out at Anas threatening to expose him for corrupt practices.
NPP MP for Efutu, Mr. Afenyo Markin also believes Anas’ methodology amounts to unfair invasion of privacy.
“You don’t lead somebody on into something and turn around and pronounce the person ‘guilty’…where you first show it [evidence] to the public and let radio stations play the audio, what are you doing?” he stated on Joy FM’s news and analysis programme, News File.
