Highlife music icon, Abrante Amakye Dede, has warned herdsmen at Agogo to immediately leave the town with their cattle.
His warning follows the shooting of three military men and a police officer by herdsmen at Agogo in the Asante Akyem North District of the Ashanti Region.
The incident is believed to happen on Monday, January 8, 2018, at about 2:30 pm Monday when the soldiers stormed the grazing where the herdsmen feed their cattle.
According to reports, two out of the five soldiers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Agogo Presbyterian hospital for treatment.
Two of the herdsmen have reportedly been arrested by Agogo District Command.
Reacting to the issue on Kasapa FM, Tuesday, the veteran highlife musician, who was recently installed a chief at Agogo urged the people of Agogo to defend themselves, because the National Security has failed to intervene in the rampant killing.
“I’m very sad about the happenings in Agogo. I have used all means to make sure that this issue is settled but all to no avail and I think it has become very worse…They should sack all cattle in the town because we don’t need them in Agogo,” he fumed.
The celebrated musician appealed to the government to follow the road map drawn to ensure peace in the area, and that the nomads must not be allowed to stay and destroy farmlands.
