Jewel Ackah To Be Buried On August 4
The late veteran Ghanaian highlife musician, Jewel Ackah, who died on April 27 at his residence located at the Community 11 in Tema, will be buried on August 4 in Axim in the Western Region, according to the family.
The family of the late musician announced the burial date at the one-week remembrance of the late highlife musician held at the Sakasaka Park in Tema, near the Community Two Police Station.
The one-week remembrance ceremony attracted number of musicians, politicians, friends of Jewel Ackah and representatives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and other political parties.
A section of the musicians who graced the event were K.K. Kabobo, Gyedu Blay-Ambolley, Kofi Bentil, Pat Thomas, Amandzeba Nat Brew, Mr Ahuma Ocansey, Obour and a host of others.
They paid tributes to their departed colleague, whom they described as a quiet and friendly person.
A.B. Crentsil, Smart Nkansah, Pat Thomas, Joyce Blessing, Gifty Osei, Ackablay, Gyedu Blay-Ambolley, among others, also performed at the ceremony.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Joseph Ade Coker; Yaw Boateng-Djan, former National Organiser; Anita De Sosoo and Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, MP for Ellembele Constituency, were also present at the ceremony.
Ex-President John Mahama, who was also present, donated an amount of GH¢12, 000 to the family in support of the funeral.
