Veep Commissions Pentecost Millennium Police Station

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has commissioned a district police station constructed at the cost of GH¢5.2 million for the residents of Kasoa Millennium City and its environs.

The facility, which was wholly funded by the Church of Pentecost, was constructed on a 4.9=acre land.

It has offices, barracks, separate cells for minors, males and females and fully air-conditioned.

Commissioning the station during the 43rd General Council Meeting of the Church of Pentecost at its Convention Centre – which is located close to the new station on Wednesday – the veep paid glowing tribute to the church for its social services initiatives.

The four-day General Council Meeting which opened today, is under the theme, “Remain In Christ and His Basic Message”

The meeting will be climaxed with the election of a new chairman for the church.

Dr Bawumia, who was very impressed about the huge investment made by the church to develop the Convention Centre into a sophisticated edifice, indicated that the government would continue with its development agenda in collaboration with faith based institutions.

The Inspector General of Police, David Asante-Apeatu, who was thankful to the church, stated that the Police Service was undergoing a number of reforms to make it a world-class institution.

Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah, Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, presenting the state of the Church address, indicated that the church, which was operating in 99 countries as at 2017, had a huge worldwide membership last year while Ghana had 2,566,818.

The Chairman who retires from active in August this year after 42 years as a pastor and 10 years as chairman of the Church.
